The long-awaited 2021 GASGAS enduro and motocross ranges have been revealed. Check out the first models from the Spanish brand under KTM-ownership. GASGAS Motorcycles has announced its 2021-lineup of off-road motorcycles with 11-bikes across its mini, motocross and enduro ranges. Since GASGAS became a part of the PIERER Mobility Group, the team has worked tirelessly to reactivate the brand. Ensuring all bikes deliver vibrant styling, the latest technology and ease-of-use, GASGAS established a strong range of no-nonsense, user-friendly, performance offroad motorcycles. All benefiting from the group’s’ robust, high-performance technical base, each one of our bikes embraces a distinct Spanish style. 2021 GASGAS Enduro The thrill of off-road riding has long been at the heart of GASGAS. Its Euro 5 compliant EC line-up is focused on ensuring fun and putting serious enduro bikes into the hands of riders who love offroad racing. The range of two-stroke and four-stroke bikes all feature the latest technologies from KTM and celebrate our unique Spanish heritage and enduro know-how. Utilizing a well-proven performance platform. The Australian-range includes the EC 250, EC 300, EC 250F and EC 350F enduro bikes are all about no-nonsense riding enjoyment. 2021 GASGAS EC250F Frame All GASGAS Enduro frames are built using lightweight, laser-cut chromium molybdenum steel, which is robot welded for complete accuracy and strength. Incorporating specifically engineered flex into all two-stroke and two-stroke frames GASGAS ensures riders have complete confidence no matter how gnarly the terrain. Frames are finished with red powder coating. Forged Triple Clamps The 22mm offset forged triple clamps offer 3-way handlebar adjustment, which ensures riders of all sizes can accurately set the handlebars to best suit their needs. Delivering maximum stiffness, they ensure precise handling and front suspension action. 48mm WP Xplor Fork They use a split fork design with each side fitted with springs, compression damping is on the left and the rebound on the right. They also provide progressive damping and simple and fast clicker adjustments. And thanks to a calibrated mid-valve piston for consistent damping, the advanced setup keeps the front end higher in the stroke, providing impressive reserves against bottoming out. WP Xplor Shock Matched to the linkage system fitted to all GASGAS Enduro bikes, the WP XACT rear shock delivers 300mm of rear-wheel travel to ensure awesome handling, the very best traction and maximum fun in the bush. With specific internal settings giving complete rider confidence across a wide-range of offroad terrains, in offering full rebound and high/low-speed compression adjustability the shock can easily be fine-tuned to meet the needs of beginners and seasoned racers alike. GASGAS EC350F BRAKTEC Brakes GASGAS fits Braktec braking systems to all of its Enduro bikes. With a smooth, sensitive action the front brake features an 11mm piston within the master cylinder and 2x25mm pistons in the caliper, together with a waved 260mm front disc. The rear brake has a master cylinder piston and a 1x25mm piston caliper and uses a 220mm rear brake disc. BRAKTEC Hydraulic Clutch GASGAS has fit Damped Diaphragm Steel DDS clutch and Braktec hydraulic system to our GASGAS Enduro bikes, which creates a clutch that has a light and consistent action and is almost maintenance free. With a single diaphragm spring instead of the more common coil spring, the design also incorporates a damping system, which increases both traction and durability. These bikes are also fitted with a Braktec hydraulic clutch system that provides even wear, near maintenance-free operation and perfect action in all conditions. It’s also extremely light. Free play is constantly adjusted to ensure a biting point and action that never changes. Engine Management GASGAS uses two different sized throttle bodies on our Enduro bikes – a 42mm Keihin unit on our 4-strokes and a 39mm Dell’Orto throttle body on our 2-strokes. On the EC 250F and EC 350F GASGAS claims immediate throttle response is guaranteed due to the throttle cable being mounted directly, without a throttle linkage. The injector is positioned to ensure the most efficient flow into the combustion chamber. Things are a little more involved on our 2-stroke bikes, where a Throttle Position Sensor TPS relays airflow data to the ECU, which in turn calculates the amount of oil and fuel delivered to the engine! The end result on all bikes is crisp, clean running motors that deliver smooth, strong power. Working away behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the high-performance GASGAS Enduro bikes, on our 4-strokes the Keihin EMS system controls everything to do with the electronic fuel injection system as well as featuring a gear sensor, that tailors power delivery for each gear. Superfast at processing data, on our 2-strokes the EMS features an Electronic Control Unit ECU that is responsible for a number of functions. Most importantly it eliminates the need for jetting changes. 2021 GASGAS Motocross The 2021 GASGAS motocross range coming to Australia will include the MC 125, MC 250F and MC 450F. For juniors there will be a MC 50, MC 65, MC 85 and electric MC-E5. Frame Underneath the red powder coating there’s a chromium molybdenum steel, hydro-formed, laser-cut and robot-welded chassis that’s built to perform. Designed to be rigid where it needs to be rigid and to flex where flex is needed, it provides exceptional rider feedback, energy absorption and straight-line stability. With a short and compact profile all GASGAS Motocross subframes are made from lightweight aluminum. The profile helps centralize mass while also keeping weight down. 48mm WP XACT Fork All GASGAS Motocross models are equipped with advanced, 48mm WP XACT upside-down fork that are easily adjustable. Delivering progressive and consistent damping no matter how rough the track, they feature a capsulated air spring and pressurized oil chamber together with other internal damping wizardry. The end result is outstanding rider comfort and front-end confidence. WP XACT Shock Traction is what it’s all about and our fully adjustable WP XACT shock provides the advanced damping that inspires confidence and ignites fun. Designed to work harmoniously with both frame and swingarm to offer incredible energy absorption, the shock is also matched to a linkage system with a specific geometry that further aids traction. Rebound and high/low speed compression adjustment and 300mm of travel means GASGAS Motocross bikes are ready to take on the roughest tracks. Brembo Hydraulic Clutch No need for adjustment and a near maintenance-free operation, but the best thing about the Brembo hydraulic clutch is that it delivers a perfectly smooth action time and time again. Tapi melihat bagaimana GazGas menempatkan fram khusus untuk menjaga knalpot tinggi yang dimiliki oleh GE 250 Standard dan penataan jokny yang sangat jauh berbeda dengan seri klasiknya yang terlihat maksa’, jujur saja penulis katakana GE 250 Standard kali ini benar-benar membuaktikan kualitasnya. Spakbor-nya yang tinggi menyerupai paruh juga cukup ergonomis, karena membuat ban benar-benar bisa bergerak sempurna dan mudah dibersihkan. So, bicara penampilan harga GE 250 Standard yang berbandrol 17 jutaan ini sangat sempurna. Sayang Dari Performanya Ini, Motor Ini Masih Mengandalkan Kaburator Tapi, apakah hal ini lantas membuktikan bahwa performa yang dimiliki oleh GE 250 Standard ini juga bakalan sesempurna performa dapur pacunya? Hmm, jika melihat bagaimana kini GazGas telah siap untuk membekali GE 250 Standard murah tersebut dengan mesin silinder tunggal SOHC 2-valve berkapasitas 149 cc yang masih mengandalkan sistem pengapian berbasis kaburator, maka penulis yakin user akan berpikir dua kali dengan performa mesin yang mulai dinilai boros tersebut. Namun apabila dari konstruksi mesin unggulannya ini, kini harga GE 250 Standard yang terjangkau sudah bisa menikmati daya gedor yang cukup tinggi hingga 16 HP dan kemampuan torsi maksimal 5500 rpm untuk menggerus tanah medan off-road user, maka so far GE 250 Standard ini masih cukup bersaing dengan para kompetitor lokalnya. The tank holds liters of oil and is fitted with a sensor, which illuminates a warning light when the oil needs to be refilled. Automatic, electronically controlled oil injection reduces exhaust smoke by up to 50 % compared to conventional pre-mix lubrication. CYLINDER & PISTON Delivering smooth and controlled power throughout the RPM range, the EC 250 cylinder features a bore and a Twin-Valve Controlled TVC power valve system. Optimal exhaust port timing is achieved with the combination of the state-of-the-art, adjustable power valve drive and a machined exhaust port window. Additionally, the cylinder features two inlet positions located on the transfer ports at the rear of the cylinder where a pair of fuel injectors are mounted. Delivering the fuel downwards into the transfer port these injectors guarantee perfect atomization with the air travelling upward to the combustion chamber. This ensures a more efficient combustion resulting in reduced fuel consumption and emissions. We match a lightweight piston to the EC 250 cylinder to ensure the highest levels of reliability and performance. It's as simple as that! COUNTER BALANCER SHAFT The EC 250 motor houses a laterally mounted counter balancer shaft, which significantly reduces and minimizes vibration, resulting in smoother and more comfortable rides, especially on longer and more demanding enduro routes. TRANSMISSION We use a forged 6-speed wide-ratio Pankl Racing Systems transmission across our EC enduro range, guaranteeing durability and reliability and ensuring riders can take on both the slowest and fastest types of terrain with confidence. Additionally, an innovative shift lever reduces dirt build up for easy operation in all conditions. CRANKSHAFT Balanced in conjunction with the counter balancer shaft to ensure the smoothest possible running of the EC 250 motor, the crankshaft features a 72mm stroke and produces more inertia than its motocross equivalent. By incorporating a heavier ignition rotor, riders gain increased torque and control of the motor when riding at lower RPM. CRANKCASE The EC 250 motor is designed around mass centralization. As a result, the lightweight, die-cast crankcases have been developed to accommodate the internal shaft arrangements in the ideal position, centralizing oscillating mass and improving handling and overall rideability. Additionally, there is also a compact counter balance shaft to remove unwanted vibrations while the water pump casing is designed for effective cooling by optimizing the flow of coolant. EXHAUST SYSTEM Ensuring enduro specific power across the full GASGAS enduro range, all our exhausts are designed and built to meet FIM sound regulations! Our 2-stroke header pipes are super strong and offer optimal geometry, performance and ground clearance, making them less susceptible to damage. We know what it's like sometimes, which is why the EC 250 has a super light clutch action. We fit a Damped Diaphragm Steel DDS clutch and Braktec hydraulic system to our GASGAS EC 250, which creates a clutch that has a light and consistent action and is almost maintenance free. With a single diaphragm spring instead of the more common coil spring, the design also incorporates a damping system, which increases both traction and durability. Direct from the EnduroGP paddock, Enduro21’s takes a quick “snoop around” the GASGAS Factory Racing EC 250F Pro bike which reigning E1 World Enduro Champion Andrea Verona is racing in the 2021 GP season. EnduroGP is back and that means Enduro21 is back, snooping round the World Championship paddocks checking out the bikes. How the best riders in the world set up their bikes, the mods the factory teams make and the details behind these rocketships always makes for fascinating viewing and we never get tired of unearthing a few of the gems they have hidden. As the only official GASGAS entry in the EnduroGP World Championship, Andrea Verona’s GASGAS EC 250F is one special bike. Verona is the reigning E1 class world champion having taken the title in his first senior season in 2020 and switched to the newly formed GASGAS Factory Racing team in the off-season. The Italian arrives at his home GP this weekend in Edolo as joint points leader and very much a favourite, not just for the class win but for the scratch victory as well. For this Pro Bike feature, rather than a full sweep across the whole bike because the bike had to be whisked away, we’ve focused on some details which stand out the most. Handguard hacks Enduro21 began snooping along the handlebars of Verona’s GASGAS, checking out the billet aluminium throttle housing and standard ODI grips. The throttle housing is simply a stronger part which features on many of the KTM and Husqvarna factory machines in the World Enduro paddocks. One nice touch we spotted is the cable tie on the Acerbis handguards. The cable tie loops around and back through a small piece of plastic tubing before securing on the hydraulic hose. They basically hold the guard in place firmly but easily bust as the weakest point if Andrea hits a tree or drops the bike. That way the handguard doesn’t get broken most the time and the cable tie is easily replaced ahead of the next test. The Acerbis frame guards look tidy too, especially the right side one which neatly protects the rear brake master cylinder. Low rise Renthals Verona uses Renthal 999 bend handlebars which is a pretty low bend and not uncommon with the fast traditional enduro boys who prefer the leverage lower bars bring. The Renthal’s sit on solid bars clamps and the GASGAS Technical Accessories anodised fork clamps. In terms of the brakes, they run Brembo calipers with the factory unit on the front which is also found in the GASGAS Technical Accessories catalogue. A MotoMaster front brake disc is coupled with a Brembo master cylinder, replacing the standard Braktec caliper on the stock GG. Brembo sponsors the team bikes so it is no surprise to see the full system is swapped out for their parts. The main reason to upgrade the front caliper though is for more braking power and feel at the lever. Another stock part replaced on Andrea’s bike are the rims. The team fit stronger Excel, black anodised rims front and rear, plus they use the Metzeler Six Days enduro tyres and “normally hard” mousses. Leaning towards MX set-up The word in the GASGAS factory awning is Andrea’s bike leans towards an MX bike set-up and as such is much stiffer than the stock EC 250F – as you’d expect. For this first GP in Portugal they used a seven litre, motocross fuel tank. They have the option to fit the litre EC 250F tank you see it fitted in some of the images we used – these were pre-season shots if needed when for example an event is running a longer transfer and overall lap. Generally they find there’s no need and the Portuguese GP was certainly a long enough lap to prove economy is not an issue, despite Verona’s full gas throttle hand. They also run the stock MC 250F footpegs which are six millimetres lower than what’s found on the EC enduro model, which isn’t an uncommon mod found on many KTM/Husqvarna/GASGAS enduro race bikes. Longer wheelbase One set-up detail we also spotted was Andrea runs a pretty long chain – in Portugal for the first GP of 2021 it was sitting pretty far back in the swingarm. It’s all about the bike handling the team explained, simply the longer chain makes the wheelbase longer and that means a more stable but slower turning bike. The gearbox is six-speed as standard on the EC 250F model but with 49 rear and 13 front final drive gear ratios on the Supersprox sprockets. Sexy sumpguard Rear suspension linkage ratios are different to standard although we were not able to get exact details don’t forget the GASGAS models run linkage rear suspension on the Enduro models like Husqvarnas rather than the KTM PDS, non-linkage system. The linkage is protected by the Acerbis sumpguard and linkage protector which sits really nicely under there, protecting the suspension linkage arms. The GASGAS Factory Racing team is new to the GP paddock but actually is the red arm of the same Farioli team which houses Josep Garcia on the KTM and this weekend in Edolo they also welcome Manuel Lettenbichler and Taddy Blazusiak. Their factory EC 250F, just as you’d expect, was looking immaculate ahead of the Friday night Super Test.
